On Saturday, September 11, 2021, Operation 22 til Freedom hosted our 3rd Annual Poker Ride – A Ride to Prevent Suicide.
While we experienced less riders then we did in 2020, our supporters did not disappoint. Thanks to our Supporters we raised over $18,000 on Saturday. This is the gross amount for that day. It doesn’t include the cost of hosting the event or any of the merchandise/fundraising efforts that went in prior to the ride.
We want to thank our supporters for showing up for our veterans. As you know OTTF is 100% volunteer based and ALL of our proceeds go towards fighting veteran suicide.
At the event we had some announcements:
- PINK SHIRTS – We have Pink Shirts/Merchandise available for sale through Anytime Tees. You can purchase your Pink merchandise through September 25, and pick them up in time to wear them throughout October. https://operation22tilfreedom.itemorder.com/sale
- SELF-DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR – OTTF will be hosting a FREE self-development seminar “Spiral of Accountability” facilitated by Carol Horner, owner of Synchronicity, at Iowa Western Community College in the Art Center. Register for FREE https://www.eventbrite.com/e/167538677695
- EL CAMINO RAFFLE – We are raffling a 1965 El Camino. Raffle tickets are only $100 a piece and only 200 will be sold. Tickets are available to purchase until October 29th and the winner will be announced on October 30th. 100% of the proceeds will go to our Christmas Fund. - CHRISTMAS APPLICATIONS – This year we are fortunate enough to have the funds to sponsor 10 veteran families for Christmas. Each sponsorship will be $1,000 of presents from Amazon and a $150 gift card for food. Applications are open until October 23rd. (Please visit the Christmas Fund page for more details.)
